The Parent Connection – a series of video conversations with experts discussing youth, mental health and substance use.
“Back to School” has always been an exciting (and sometimes stressful) time – but 2020 may prove to be a whole new ballgame for many of us.
This year, Drug Free Kids Canada has prepared a series of zoom video conversations with experts in the field of youth, mental health, and substance use called The Parent Connection.
The Parent Connection video chats are informal yet informative, providing valuable insights into youth, substances, risk, and protective factors, and suggestions on what we as parents and adult allies can do to help our kids find healthy ways to manage their feelings - within the context of COVID.
Just in time for Back to School 2020, this engaging video series with DFK Advisory Council members and other subject matter experts will be delivered to your inbox once a week --beginning Tuesday, September 15th.
Our chats with the experts provide you with information to help you:
- Start an ongoing dialogue with your family, including tips on how to help your child make healthy decisions
- Understand vaping and its popularity with kids
- Within the context of COVID 19, recognize substance use risk factors and how to help your child develop resilience
- Know the signs that your kid may be using alcohol and drugs regularly and what to do next (Don’t panic!)
